Probably the most popular of the Social, Easy Sequence Dance Latin Dances worldwide, Rumba One is danced and danced, it's just so well loved.
I have it as "Headings Only" and also as a "Full Script", print out whichever suits you best. The "Headings" will print onto a Standard record card to go into a File Card box. The "Full Script" you can print in different sizes - see Printing Tips for help with this.
Note:- Variations are many for this dance. In the original script, but rarely danced in social clubs are the CURVING BACK and FORWARD WALKS over bars 8 to 10. The addition of this correction should be encouraged, and can make a real difference to the way the dance looks and was meant to be danced. The same with the Cucurachas in bars 11 and 12, a "correctly" danced Cucuracha looks so much better than a half-hearted poke out of the left and right legs, almost like a point step, but seen too many times.
The Shoulder to Shoulder steps danced in Bars 2 through to Bar 6 are often seen danced in 'Double Hold' with the Fencing Line accentuated by an anti-clockwise circling arm movement of the joined RH to LH hands which are then extended out as in the script for step 1 of bar 6.
I have also heard of this lovely old Rumba danced as a Jive :-(
