| Georgella Blues : Stella and George Berwick : 1950 |
The Georgella Blues is often referred to and sometimes announced as the "Georgella Quickstep", and danced to a medium tempo swing or quickstep track. It's an older dance with a separation where the partners dance solo turns and points out of Ballroom hold. With elements of both Old Time and Modern Sequence, it's kind of a "hybrid" dance that might probably be classified as a Swing if arranged nowadays.
I have it as "Headings Only" and also as a "Full Script", print out whichever suits you best. The "Headings" will print onto a Standard record card to go into a File Card box. The "Full Script" you can print in different sizes - see Printing Tips for help with this.
Note:- The Chassés in the first four bars are sometimes seen danced as either Lock Steps, or side closes and forwrad steps (Half Squares), either seems to work alongside the scripted Chassés without disturbing the sequences even if danced by different couples behind each other in the same dance. Bar 12 sometimes has two handclaps, on the LF back and RF Point steps, no hand hold.
