Flirtation Two Step : Arranger Unknown : Date Unknown

A popular Old Time Social, Easy Sequence Dance, danced all over and well appreciated.

Considerable help with the scipting for this dance was given by Ian W. who kindly supplied Notes confirming differences and similarities to the notes already in my possession. Thanks Ian, help is always welcome!

Ian's Notes conmfirmed to me that there are at least two dances carrying this name. First is the 32 bar setting, and the Lady "Flirts" by changing partners not just once, but twice in each sequence. This is listed here as the "Full 32 bar Script". Another. simpler variant exists danced in Ceilidh and Social Sequence and likely the most Popular, this is listed here as the "Popular 16 Bar Script" The Flirtation element of this version appears to be a simple progressive movement when the Lady moves forwards at the end of the separation.

There appears to be very little similarity between the two versions, so much so that they may well be two different dances. Both are old and have little provenance as to Arrangers. As always, if you know better, please advise and I will correct this page to reflect that information.

I have it as the "Full 32 Bar Script", and a 16 Bar version also is a work in progress. The "16 Bar" version will be placed on site as soon as possible. The "Full 32 Bar Script" you can print in different sizes - see Printing Tips for help with this.
